John Dramani Mahama to Begin ‘Resetting Ghana’ Nationwide Tour Today
Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has announced that President John Dramani Mahama will from tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, begin a nationwide engagement tour dubbed the “Resetting Ghana” initiative.

President John Dramani Mahama is set to begin his nationwide “Resetting Ghana” tour today, as part of efforts to engage directly with citizens and outline his administration’s plans for national development.
The tour will see the President lead Ministers as well as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to interact with the public, traditional leaders, and key stakeholders across the country. It is expected to commence in the Bono Region before extending to other regions.
Speaking on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu stated that the objective of the tour is to listen to the concerns of citizens and keep them informed about government policies and interventions. He made this known when Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang paid a working visit to the Presidency.
He explained that the tour forms part of broader efforts by the Mahama administration to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu further revealed that government has undertaken significant reforms within the communication sector, reducing staff strength from 104 to 18 to improve efficiency and coordination. He noted that previously fragmented structures have been merged to eliminate duplication and enhance service delivery.
According to him, the streamlined team includes presidential staffers, administrative officers, national service personnel, and research assistants who support coordination between the ministry and other government offices.
Despite the reduction, the ministry continues to supervise key state institutions, including the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Ghana News Agency, Information Services Department, National Media Commission, and the Ghana Publishing Company, which remain essential in disseminating information nationwide.
He emphasized that improved coordination within the communication sector will ensure accurate and timely information reaches the public throughout the nationwide exercise.
The Vice President’s visit forms part of ongoing efforts to assess institutional performance and strengthen government agencies to deliver effectively on their mandates.
