Mahama: Ghana to become Africans production and Export Hub
President John Dramani Mahama has spoken about the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) duing a meeting held at the Blue House with the President of Korea, Lee Jae-Myung.

President Mahama was received in South Korea by the Korean Ambassador to Ghana, Park Kyongsig; Chung Kwangyong, Director-General for Africa and the Middle East Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea; and Ghana’s Ambassador to South Korea, Kojo Choi, along with other officials from the Ghanaian diplomatic team in Seoul.

The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and South Korea, with a focus on exploring new opportunities in technology, renewable energy, and trade partnerships.
After his meeting with the President of South Korea, Mahama emphasized that Ghana values its historic ties with Korea, highlighting shared commitments to innovation, good governance, and sustainable development.

The President also pointed to expanding cooperation in fisheries and modern agricultural techniques, supported by programs from the Korea International Cooperation Agency, to improve Ghana’s food security. He further highlighted Ghana’s role as a strategic gateway for African trade through the African Continental Free Trade Area, hosted in Accra, presenting opportunities for industrial development and continental exports.
Mahama expressed optimism that Ghana’s resources, paired with Korea’s technological expertise, will continue to drive a mutually beneficial partnership for economic growth and shared prosperity.
