Ghanaian music icon Okyeame Kwame is set to turn 50 this April, and he’s choosing to celebrate in true legacy fashion—by building a paediatric emergency centre at Manhyia District Hospital in Kumasi.

This April, Ghanaian music legend Okyeame Kwame will celebrate his 50th birthday in a truly remarkable way—by giving back to the community.

He has announced plans to build a paediatric emergency centre at Manhyia District Hospital in Kumasi, a project aimed at improving emergency healthcare services for children.

The milestone birthday celebrations will feature a star-studded event hosted by Channel One TV on April 18 at +233 Jazz Bar & Grill in Accra, starting from 9 p.m till late. Fans can look forward to electrifying performances from top Ghanaian artists including Kwame Eugene, Kidi, King Paluta, Amerado, MzVee, Sista Afia, Afriyie Wutah, Kwabena Kwabena, Kweku Darlington, Abiana, Akwaboah, Abochi, Bradez, Ras Kuuku, Adina, and Andy Dosty.

Tickets are priced at GHS1,500 for VVIP and GHS1,000 for VIP, with all proceeds going directly toward the construction of the pediatric emergency centre—a lasting gift that will benefit countless children in Kumasi.

Throughout his career, Okyeame Kwame has been a strong advocate for Ghanaian culture, promoting indigenous languages like Akan, championing the “Made in Ghana” agenda, and representing the country on international arts and tourism stages.
