Western North Region: Three perish in accident at Asempaneye
Three people have lost their lives in a fatal road accident at Asempaneye in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

Three persons have lost their lives following a fatal road accident at Asempaneye in the Bia West District of the Western North Region.
The incident occurred earlier on Monday, March 31, 2026, along the Asempaneye stretch of road leading toward the district capital.
According to information gathered, the vehicle involved in the crash was travelling from Kumasi to Oseikojokrom when the accident happened.
Eyewitnesses reported that the crash occurred at a sharp curve on the road, popularly known by residents as the “SS-curve.” The driver is said to have applied the brakes while approaching the curve but allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle subsequently veered off the road, crashed into a culvert, and somersaulted multiple times.
Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third person later succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.
The Unit Committee Chairman, Simon Achibrah, confirmed the incident, stating that he was alerted shortly after the crash occurred. He explained that the vehicle, identified as a Stanbic with registration number 47-62-24, was travelling from Asempaneye Breman toward Oseikojokrom when the driver lost control.
Police officers have since visited the scene and have commenced investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident.
