Put Ghana First -King Oyanka to Politicians

Traditional Ruler of Oblieman in the Ga West Municipality and Education Emissary of the Montessori Model United Nations-West Africa, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I has bared his teeth at how politicians in the country keeps taking Ghanaians for granted.
He said over time Ghanaian politicians act as if once they get power, they’re still in their political party regalia and forget that they have been chosen in the name of the nation.
It is four months to Ghana’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections and as expected there have been and will be various tantrums being thrown by politicians at each other for what one has done and the other is doing. Presentation of manifestos and name couching will be very evidential with Ghanaians expected to queue and choose leaders based on the stories that have been sold to them.
In an interview with Black Face on Accra based Kessben FM, King Oyanka bemoaned how politicians will win the hearts of Ghanaians with nice policies for them to be voted for and at the end leave the people regretting.
He raised concerns on how successive governments from the days of Nkrumah’s overthrow have neglected projects or developmental Agendas that their predecessors began. He said it becomes so disheartening to see some commendable projects that was started but due to change of government it stalled only for the new government to come and prioritise another project leaving the already started ones rotting.
He called on the two biggest political parties in the country NDC and NPP to put Ghana first before their political and parochial interest. He shared that once they’re voted or chosen the works they do is to reflect their people’s idea and mind. He therefore pleaded with them to ensure that old projects are attended to before new ones are started.
He further advised that, before any new project is started, strategic measures should be put in place to ensure that when there’s a change of government, it doesn’t keep such projects rotting.
King Oyanka called on all Ghanaians especially the youth to be weary of violence as we approach the December election. He advised that no youth be allowed as a tool of violence and by that everyone should go out there and choose their preference in peace.
